A poignant performance...but the tempo is too slow. Elegies don't have to be so slow that the cello is forced to take so may bows as to create "new rhythms" while trying to sustain the long line...new rhythms which don't appear in the score. (IMHO)

I’d love to be there, but Pasadena Pops has imposed a vaccine mandate. I had C19 last month, am fully recovered under my doctor’s care, and am testing great for my own, naturally produced antibodies. I’m sure we’ve all read in Bloomberg and other publications about the extensive study from Israel showing that antibodies naturally developed from having had and recovered from C19 are many times longer lasting and many times more effective than vaccine-induced antibodies; vaccine antibodies are proven to degrade at about 20%/month - necessitating the endless booster - while natural C19 antibodies degrade at about 5%/month. There is so much solid information out there, please do use it. I have missed Pasadena Pops so much, and I am sorry to miss it again (along with so many other beloved concerts & plays). But you do you, I guess.
